LEON krasenstein Is a Sydney-based Costume Designer and stylist for Television and film.

Recent credits include: Feature Film DOWN UNDER directed by ABE FOrsythe and season two of soul mates (collaboration between united states comedy streaming channel seeso and the abc). 

TERMINUS (Costume Designer) aired November 2014, ABC comedy show SOUL MATES (costume designer) airing September 2014 and ABC kids show HOOPLA (Costume Designer) currently on air.

leon has worked on commercials for the following companies - FINCH, EXIT, RABBIT, REVOLVER, COLLIDER, GOOD OIL, JAPCo, PLAZA, PHOTO PLAY, FILM GRAPHICS, WALKABOUTS and THE FEDS on the following brand campaigns; tourism australia, commbank, abbot's breads, samsung, aldi, nissan, telstra, sony, mortein and 1direction.

A WAAPA graduate, Leon’s  screen credits include production design for Awake(short), production design for Dating the H-Bomb (short), costume design for the telemovie pilot episode of Sick (winner of the Optus 180 Project) and he is currently costume designing on an ABC television drama co-production with China, to be screened late 2013. Leon has also designed on music videos forTimomaticDead Letter Circus, Johnny Ruffo, Justice Crew, Samantha Jade, The Ruebens and Andew Desilva.

Leon’s theatre work includes Graeme Murphy’s production of Firebird for the Australian Ballet (nominated for a 2009 Green Room Award), Opera Queensland’s production of Die Fledermaus (2005) and The Marriage of Figaro(The Australian Opera Studio-2004), Chrissie Parrott’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (nominated for a 2006 Helpmann Award for Best Costume Design), Simon Dow’s productions of Dangerous LiaisonsThe Red Shoes and Alice (set and costume design) for the West Australian Ballet; Opera Australia’s The Barber of Seville (2005) with director John Milson and Tears From a Glass Eye for Black Swan Youth Theatre Company as well as Rhapsody, NICA’s circus production directed by Sally Richardson. In 2010, Leon designed sets and costumes for TasDance’s production of Heart Matters and for Perth Theatre Company’s The Removalists. He set and costume designed on Drag Queensland (Queensland Music Festival), and designed Rake’s Progress for the Victorian Opera, directed by John Bell.

Leon’s event and corporate designs include: Alcoa’s 2010 strategic plan,Live@Woodstock 2008 and 2009 and he designed the uniforms for the Channel Seven crew for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Torino, Italy.

Leon also runs his own art gallery, Friends of Leon in Surry Hills.
